For Valentine’s Day we decided to sip Champagne Cocktails. Champagne is not limited to special occasions in our household, think Wednesday evenings just because, so I decided to dress it up for an actual occasion. I found the perfect recipe for Valentine’s – Martha Stewart’s Blood Orange Champagne Cocktails – red and bubbly.
While Martha’s recipe is more of a mimosa (bubbles and juice only) I decided to follow the classic Champagne cocktail approach and added vodka to each glass. And let’s just say that I’m a little worse for the wear today that I might have otherwise been from an evening of sipping mimosas.
My highly technical recipe:
- A splash of fresh squeezed orange juice,
- A splash of vodka,
- Top with Champagne,
- Repeat as needed.
